Why I Became a Financial Adviser
People who enjoy working with numbers don’t always enjoy working with other people. They usually prefer to work behind the scenes, analyzing data and crunching numbers. There are some professions where you can do this, but I’m also a people person and I didn’t want to sit behind a desk or stare at a screen all day. I wanted a career that would allow me to add value to people’s lives and help them achieve a brighter future. Helping clients become financially independent while they achieve their goals and dreams is the reason why I became a fiduciary financial adviser.
First Career Step
With an interest in finance and business, I set out to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration. I’m originally from Upstate New York, but I ended up staying in western Pennsylvania after attending college here. I had a great job at a large financial institution where I began working during college and ended up there for almost nine years. During this time, I expanded on my financial education and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Life Underwriter®. That job eventually led me to my current position at Wright Associates, where I have worked since February 2021.
My Career Today
As Senior Financial Adviser, I help clients achieve their financial goals through comprehensive financial planning, retirement income planning, investment and advisory services, risk management, and more. I try to keep things simple since finances can be complex and overwhelming. I am passionate about educating my clients so they can make informed choices that will help them live life by design and not by default.
I work hard at my profession and am honored to have that hard work recognized. I was named a Million Dollar Round Table member in 2019 and 2020 and in 2022 was featured in the Top 100 People in Finance Magazine. I enjoy my work—serving clients by solving their problems, making their life easier, and educating them to make wise decisions so they can steward their money well. Being able to truly make a measurable impact on client lives is incredible. Very rarely do people’s passions line up with their careers, but I am blessed enough to do what I love daily.
Why I Love What I Do
I’m passionate about helping my clients because I want them to achieve success. This looks different for each person, which is a challenge I enjoy figuring out. I love helping them make wise decisions about their finances.
Getting client notes and emails thanking me for the work our team did is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job and keeps me going. It’s so rewarding to watch and be part of clients’ lives as they go through the various life stages: from getting married and buying their first house, to having kids and saving for college, then reaching that retirement milestone, and finally passing down their legacy.
